and a bit of an update

highlights over the last few weeks

  • andy and lucys' birthday night out - did no-one take any photos?

  • driving down to cornwall in the van for Abby's birthday, had an ace bbq on the beach and an even better meal in Finns but sadly had to cut the weekend a bit short when I got typhoid. Alright it was flu but I felt like I was dieing.

  • picked up my new glasses - I've never worn glasses before and its freaking me out a bit, but it is nice to be able to see things so clearly.

  • picked up our new car - hello 160mph car - goodbye driving license? Emma seems to be loving the attention she gets driving it into work everyday, not fair, when do I get some of that?

  • drive a triumph tr6 up to snowdon, not literally up snowdon you understand. the love of my life hired a tr6 from the open road as a present for my 30th. we picked the car up in stratford and drove it up the A roads into north wales - had a great time bombing around with the top down. we camped here and I can safely say we wont be again. weird is the only word for it. plans for doing any real walking were scuppered as it was persisting down on sunday morning. instead we checked out the slate quarry museum thing in llanberis which was surprisingly ace. we did manage to buy some walking boots so will be prepared for the next time, or at least have something to wear at glasto next year :D

anway thats all the news, will post pics from cornwall and tr6 weekend later today or over the weeekend.

the power of that internet

Anyone who read my post about Colin Pillinger back in May - check it out now. His daughter as only gone and blimmin well replied! So hello to you, whatever your name may be, and is this your brother's website?

I love how the internet makes the world feel so small!

So any other Pillingers reading please feel free to post and let me know! Even more interesting would be some blogging Pillingers.

Windsurfing? Is that dangerous?

normally I'd so noooooo, not particularly. After a stint in Poole A&E on Saturday I might revise that statement slightly. Trapped my foot between the mast and the board on Sat and it bent my foot right round 90 degrees as I watched. Myself, the ambulance people and the nurses were convinced I had broken my leg but x-rays proved otherwise. I seems my foot was probably dislocated from my ankle somehow. Anyway the result of this is my sitting at home in pain, trying to keep my foot evelated. For anyone who'd like to see just how big my foot is check here. Unfortunately the photos dont show the lovely colours quite as well as I'd like but they give a good idea of the pain I am in!
