king monkey

call it selling out, call it what you flipping well like. if Ian Brown wants to play Stone Roses songs whos gonna argue? They came out and after one quick run through of something off the new album(Solarized?) they played in quick succession

Sally Cinnamon
(Song For My) Sugarspun Sister
Waterfall
She Bangs The Drums

it was bluddy marvellous, if only my love could've been there to see it :( get well soon moi lover! he played most of his decent solo stuff and then the encore was I Wanna Be Adored and some new U.N.K.L.E. stuff with James Lavelle onstage. At some point Noel Gallagher got up there and they did that single which I thought was pretty dull really.

Overall though, top gig action and great to hear those Roses songs - shame we didnt get Made of Stone, Where Angels Play or Standing Here which he has been playing. No doubt the people going to the Academy tonight will get treated to some of them.

how can i retire at 30?

we've got 3 cars a motorbike and expensive rented flat how am I supposed to give up work with those sort of outgoings? plus there's the dvd collection to keep up with.

glc later this week, wonder how much it will be full of chavs now that they've sold out?

salsa shark

man goes in the cage, cage goes in the salsa, sharks in the salsa, our shark. we're gonna need a bigger boat

some good news: Tesco's are stocking lots of decent cider at Osterley park now. we managed to pick up some Westons Vintage Special Reserve (8.2%) a couple of bootles of Tescos branded Westons family reserve (which I think is actually a weaker version of the same stuff 6.6%) a 2litre demijon of Westons Scrumpy(7.5%?) and last but definitely not least some Frome Valley real cider which I cant remember much about other than it was very tasty indeed and not made by Westons.

We drank almost all of that on Saturday night so need to go back again to stock up, made a pleasant change from the Virgin Wines we've been quaffing a lot of recently.
Cheers!

sfaok

excellent gig on friday night at the lighning fryday event (anyone got a setlist?). they played two sets, the first about an hour long of mostly mellow stuff including lots from mwng. it looked a lot like this...

following a bit of a break for beer they came back and rocked through all the best stuff from the singles and albums, things are a bit hazy by this point due to alcohol consumption but from what I remember it was great. check out all the people who legged it down to the front by this point...

the Royal Festival Hall was a top venue and the sound really spot on, they finished with an extremely long version of The Man and got all the characters from their last few tours up on stage...

pictures are a bit rough but you get the general impression.
still haven't had time to upload the Ireland pictures but will get round to it soon...
