long time, no news

round up of stuff
live music pop bands:
keene
brixton was more rammed than I'd seen it in ages. it was a great sing-a-long type gig and everyone left smiling. cant ask for more than that can you?
the darkness
still rock, brixton was ace as usual although seemed to be quite empty. pryo's were great and nearly burnt peoples faces off (sure they were designed for the wembley gigs). new songs ranged from poor to kick ass but luckily mostly the latter.
graham coxon
I always think the forum is a bit of a rubbish venue but 2 of the best gigs I've ever been to have been here - SFA a couple of years back and now our Graham. The best sound mix I've ever heard at a gig and one of the tightest bands both musically and technically (they piss all over Blur in so many ways). It was an amazing gig and Graham played the best bits of his first 4 albums (i.e. none of the shouty loud sub-par punk stuff) plus almost all the new Stephen Street produced album (which is ace). I've got some good pics of this which I will attempt to post over christmas if I get a chance.
Couple more gigs before Christmas - The Tears tonight in Oxford (Butler & Anderson reunited) and a nostalgic Neds Atomic Dustbin on Thursday.

films and that
little britain - I didnt watch it on tv, just got the dvds for the first series and thought it was marvellous. watched them all already so it might have to be off to uknova to try and download the new series!
dawn of the dead (original) - hmmm - good film but not as great as I thought it might be.
the grudge: ju on - no where near as scary the menus on the dvd. worth watching if you liked the eye, dark water, the ring etc.. not sure what the remake of this is going to be like but I'd say poor given the lack of plot and depth in the original.
city of god - i enjoyed this but it was pretty hard going
andromeda strain - long, tedious.
spartan, stigmata, the butterfly effect - I seem to have been watching a load of old crap recently. I cant remember the last really good film I watched - oh yes I can Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
