The Tears play lost Suede classic - NME.COM

Not Fair! They didn't play that at their first gig in Oxford! Only noticed this as I read some blogs this morning for the first time in ages. paulys blog

Went to see iamkloot last week in Oxford at the Zodiac. Great gig but for some reason there were a bunch of really annoying, extremely drunk townees intent on ruining it for everyone. I am kloot are not exactly the most rocking band in the world so screaming and shouting and bashing into everyone seems a bit out of place. Anyway a couple of them got thrown out about 20 minutes into the gig so it all turned out alright in the end. The new album is great btw. although it seems to have a few jazz inspired moments hmmmmm. also the drummer looks like the grunting dumb baddy in superman II.

Best new album I've heard in ages has to be engineers. If you ever liked anything like Ride or MBV, Slowdive etc.. this is a great album and to me sounds bang up to date. Looking forward to seeing them in a couple of weeks.

Homowner

we own a house at last! exciting stuff, wish I had a picture of it to post - will take one later and post it up.

watch those house prices tumble and interest rates rise....

And also this...

Exciting london tube map for the year 2016!

Loads a trams on there and it looks like South London will finally be connected to the rest of London. Cool. Where's the money coming from for this then - more fare increases?

Who should I vote for?

Fairly unsurprising results for me.

Who Should You Vote For?

Who should I vote for?

Your expected outcome:

Liberal Democrat

Your actual outcome:

Labour 38
Conservative -45
Liberal Democrat 42
UK Independence Party -16
Green -3

You should vote: Liberal Democrat

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

bing! back in work

seem to have been out of the office or generally not around for ages. crazy things happening have been...

  • Illness - massive sickness involving virus, laryngitis (so my love tells me), flu and generally feeling crap. Better now though, thankyou.

  • Andy's wedding - much fun, and beer, had by all. Has anyone got any photos?

  • Venice, oh these aren't in the right order. Brilliant city - the buses are boats and they run on-time and until 4.30 in the morning. Nice city, photos to follow.

  • Snowboarding in Avoriaz, I guessed the url so if it doesn't work tough. Its in Portes-du-soleil region which means a bloody big ski area. Unfortunately the snow had melted big time but we still got some good boarding in.

  • Six feet under series 4, downloaded curtisy of bittorrent, I'll buy it when it comes out. Have they changed the writers? Some/most of the story lines seem completely one-track in their direction (i.e. every character is motiviated by sex and sex alone). weird.

  • oh and Marks mini session on Steve Lamaq's last ever Sunday show on 6music yesterday.

  • I think that's all for now.
